IBINANDERA na ang 26 pelikulang kalahok at maglalaban-laban sa inaabangang CinePanalo Film Festival 2026.
Sa naganap na grand media conference sa Quantum Skyview sa Gateway Mall 2, Araneta City sa Cubao, isa-isang rumampa ang direktor at cast members ng mga napiling entry for this year.
Hosted by TV and movie personality Migs Almendras, ang Puregold CinePanalo Film Festival mediacon ay nagsilbing pagkakataon upang mas mapalapit ang mga official entry sa kanilang mga tagahangang mula sa iba’t ibang henerasyon.
Dumalo para sa coming-of-age film na “Apol of my Ai” ang direktor nitong si Thop Nazareno, kasama sina Zion Cruz at Rochelle Pangilinan.
Kinatawan naman ng producer na si Meg Bryan Bermudez ang fantasy film na “Beast,” kasama ang supporting cast nitong sina Candy Pangilinan, Karl Medina, Ruslan Jacob, at Dax Alejandro. Ito’y pinagbibidahan ng award-winning actor na si John Arcilla.
Ang tahimik ngunit makabagbag-damdaming drama na “Mono No Aware” ay kinatawan sa event ng direktor nitong si BC Amparado, producer na si Patricia Salic, at lead actor na si Juan Karlos Labajo.
Dumalo rin sa mediacon ng CinePanalo 2026 ang direktor ng supernatural at hayagang queer na pelikulang “Multwoh (Patay na Patay Sa’yo)” na si Rodina Singh, kasama sina Sassa Gurl, Joao Constancia, Phi Palmos, Gaia Poly, at Inah Evans.
Samantala, tampok sa kakaibang love story na “Patay Gutom” sina Khalil Ramos, Cris Villanueva, at Alwyn Uytingco, kasama ang mga co-director na sina Carl Joseph Papa at Ian Pangilinan.
Umakyat naman sa entablado si Mikko Baldoza para sa romantic comedy na may nakamamatay na twist na “Stuck on You,” kasama ang lead stars na sina Xyriel Manabat at River Joseph.
At panghuli, dumalo si direktor Joseph Abello upang ipakilala ang “Wantawsan,” ang kanyang “slice of life” comedy na may kakaibang twist na umiikot sa isang politikal na suliranin. Hindi nakadalo sa mediacon ang lead star nitong si Joross Gamboa.
Dumalo rin sa CinePanalo event ang 19 filmmaker na kalahok sa student shorts category ngayong taon.
Nagmula sa iba’t ibang panig ng bansa, ang bagong henerasyon ng mga boses sa mundo ng pelikula ay sabik na mag-iwan ng marka sa paparating na festival ngayong taon.
“Every film in this year’s CinePanalo carries the passion of its creators,” ayon kay Ivy-Hayagan Piedad, festival chair of Puregold CinePanalo.
“Giving these stories a platform where audiences can experience and celebrate them is our way of supporting Filipino artistry and contributing to the continued growth of Philippine cinema,” aniya pa.
