DonBelle’s ‘Tayo Sa Wakas’ tops 2026 local film openings with P12M first-day earnings

Star Cinema’s “Tayo Sa Wakas” opened to a blockbuster start, earning P12 million at the box office on its opening day, making it the highest-grossing local film opening of 2026.

ABS-CBN News shared the impressive feat on Thursday, May 28, on its official social media pages

“Puno ng pagmamahal ang ating simula!” the announcement read.

“Tayo Sa Wakas”, tops the ranks of this year’s films with the highest opening day gross alongside “The Loved One”, the reunion film of Anne Curtis and Jericho Rosales that premiered during the love month, with P6.3 million, and “Almost Us”, JM Ibarra and Fyang Smith’s first-ever solo film together, with P5 million, which is currently showing in cinemas.

Topbilled by beloved pairing Donny Pangilinan and Belle Mariano, the film is currently showing in 250 cinemas nationwide.

The tandem, fondly known as DonBelle, previously confirmed that “Tayo Sa Wakas” will be their “last project for now” as they take time apart to grow individually and eventually return stronger.

After premiering in the Philippines on May 27, 2026, “Tayo Sa Wakas” is also set for international release including Australia and New Zealand on June 11. The film will then arrive in the United States, Canada, and Guam beginning June 12, followed by screenings in Hong Kong and Macau on June 20.

Additional releases are also slated for the Middle East, Singapore, Malaysia, and Taiwan, with more territories expected to be announced in the coming days.
