PLDT is planning to offer solar power solutions through monthly subscription plans bundled with its internet services, aiming to make solar energy more accessible to households.
In a statement, the telecommunications company said it is working on a partnership with a solar energy provider to combine home internet services with renewable energy systems.
According to PLDT, early testing of the service showed strong consumer interest in combining internet and solar services into one package.
Instead of paying large upfront costs for solar installations, PLDT said customers may be able to access solar infrastructure through affordable monthly payments spread across several years.
PLDT Chief Operating Officer Butch Jimenez said adding solar systems alongside internet installation could make the offer more attractive to customers while helping households prepare for future energy needs.
Meanwhile, PLDT Home Head John Palanca said the company wants to expand beyond providing internet services by helping customers improve other parts of their homes.
The company has not yet announced pricing, availability, or full details of the planned service but said more information will be shared soon.
