Microsoft has officially revealed the Surface Pro 13, alongside the 13-inch, 13.8-inch, and 15-inch iterations of the Surface Laptop 8 series.
Microsoft Surface Laptop 8 Series and Surface Pro
The premier 13.8-inch and 15-inch Surface Laptop variants receive the most substantial upgrades, like the software-controlled privacy screen option designed to block sensitive data from wandering eyes. The 15-inch model also boasts a higher-resolution LCD panel, though the company said that OLED configurations are slated for later this summer.
Additionally, both larger laptops incorporate a redesigned, advanced trackpad that leverages Windows 11’s haptic feedback. Meanwhile, the mid-range 13-inch Surface Laptop receives an anti-reflective display upgrade.
On the other hand, the new Surface Pro 13-inch gets a modest internal spec bump but skips the advanced haptic touchpad found on its laptop counterparts.
The Surface Laptop 13 comes with the latest Intel Core Ultra Series 3 processors and 16GB of RAM, starting at USD 1,949. Microsoft attributed the elevated launch prices to surging component costs across the tech industry. For budget-conscious consumers, a lower-cost 8GB RAM variant of the 13-inch laptop is planned for USD 1,299, though it will lack Copilot+ AI capabilities.
Qualcomm Snapdragon X2-powered versions of the new lineup are also expected to arrive later this year.
