If Pokémon-themed cafés, trains, and planes are already on your travel bucket list, Japan is adding another destination that fans might want to check out soon.
Starting July 7, 2026, the Noto Satoyama Airport in Ishikawa Prefecture will officially become the Noto Satoyama Pokémon With You Airport, making it the first airport in the world to carry the Pokémon name.

According to the Pokémon With You Foundation website, the airport will feature Pokémon-inspired installations and decorations throughout the terminal.
One of the main highlights is the two-story atrium on the second floor, where visitors will find a giant Pikachu riding an airplane balloon float. The surrounding walls will also showcase artwork featuring all 111 Flying-type Pokémon, including Dragonite, Flygon, Vivillon, and Togekiss.
Meanwhile, the first-floor arrival lobby will feature an artwork inspired by Noto’s natural scenery, alongside 3D monuments of Pikachu, Plusle, and Minun.

Over at the observation deck, guests can spot dozens of illustrations of Pikachu in different poses and expressions.
The Pokémon-themed details continue outside the airport. Entrance pillars will feature Pokémon like Jigglypuff, Celebi, and Milotic, while additional decorations can also be seen on information signs and boarding bridges.
In addition to the visuals, the airport will offer interactive content for travelers. Visitors can watch three original short videos on their smartphones, including Fly! Bagon, a story about Pokémon dreaming of soaring through the sky.
Food options are also getting a themed update. Restaurant Annon on the third floor will serve Pokémon-inspired pancakes and drinks. The Serendipity shop on the second floor will sell exclusive merchandise, such as shirts, keychains, luggage tags, and suitcase belts featuring the airport’s original designs.
The Noto Satoyama Pokémon With You Airport will run from July 7 until September 30, 2029.
