“While the lead is outside the formal margin-of-error threshold, it is not yet sufficiently large to be considered politically decisive or structurally substantial,” OCTA Research group said.
A hypothetical tandem of Naga Mayor Leni Robredo and Sen. Raffy Tulfo may emerge victorious in the 2028 general elections, an OCTA Research group survey showed.
In a March 19 to 25 non-commissioned poll, 44 percent of respondents would support Robredo and Tulfo, while 40 percent would back Vice President Sara Duterte and Sen. Imee Marcos.
“Although the Robredo-Tulfo tandem holds a four-point numerical lead, the margin should still be interpreted with caution, given the survey’s three-percent national margin of error,” OCTA said.
“While the lead is outside the formal margin-of-error threshold, it is not yet sufficiently large to be considered politically decisive or structurally substantial,” it added.
Sixteen percent of respondents were undecided.
The bulk of support for the Robredo-Tulfo tandem is in Metro Manila (61 percent) and the rest of Luzon (57 percent).
Most respondents from Mindanao (86 percent) and among those in Class E (51 percent) support the Duterte-Marcos tandem.
Robredo and Tulfo have expressed no plans of running for higher office.
Duterte has announced her plan to run for president.
Other personalities being considered as the Vice President’s running mate include Senators Robinhood Padilla and Rodante Marcoleta.
