Rita Gaviola, also known as Badjao Girl, is now married to her partner, Jeric Ong.
According to their wedding video, the couple tied the knot at the Cathedral-Shrine and Parish of the Good Shepherd, also known as the Novaliches Cathedral. They had their reception at Artan Garden, also in Novaliches.
“Mrs. Ong na ‘ko. Thank you so much po sa lahat ng naging parte sa mahalagang araw na ‘to,” Rita said on Facebook.
In another post, Rita penned a message to her husband. She said their relationship was not easy and they had their share of challenges, but they chose to fight for it instead of giving up.
“Ito na rin yung pinaka magandang nangyari sa buhay ko yung tinupad mo na papakasalan mo ako at ihaharap sa Diyos, hindi ko alam paano ko sasabihin kung gaano ako kasaya, daddy,” Rita said.
Rita promised to take care of Jeric until they are old, as this is the vow they made to their families and God.
“Mahal na mahal kita, kayo ni Kia ang buhay ko,” Rita said, referring to their daughter.
In August 2022, Rita announced that she had given birth to her first child.
Rita then announced her engagement in 2023, the same year she graduated from senior high school.
She rose to fame when she was spotted on the streets during the Pahiyas Festival in Lucban, Quezon. She went viral for her beauty and inspiring story.
