The UGREEN FineTrack 2 is a budget-friendly item tracker aimed at people who want a simple way to keep tabs on bags, keys, and other everyday carry.
Design and build quality
UGREEN went playful rather than minimal — the UGREEN FineTrack 2 is shaped like a small soccer ball with a mostly rubbery exterior that gives it grip and a slightly chunkier footprint than a flat tag.
This means you can’t put it in your typical slim bifold wallet. Thankfully, there is another version of this tracker that’s made for that.
It has a lanyard/wristband slot and a reflective coating for low-light visibility and carries an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance, which is reassuring for commuters and travelers. The tracker also meets UL4200A tamper-safety guidance, so it’s designed with child-safety and robustness in mind.
Setting it up
Setup it up is simple for iPhone users: press the dedicated power/pairing button, bring the FineTrack 2 close to your iPhone, and add it via Apple’s Find My app — the pairing flow is straightforward and fast. The big caveat is platform lock-in: the device only integrates with Apple Find My.
Features / Performance
In daily use, the UGREEN FineTrack 2 offers the basics you need: precise enough location for most situations (5–10 meter accuracy from my test), lights that blink, and a loud 110 dB locator tone for finding items on a cluttered space. These features make it useful for lost-at-home moments and busy transit days, though the larger spherical form factor means it won’t slip into a slim wallet the way an AirTag-style puck can.
For occasional precision needs, Apple’s FindMy network provides wide-area locating, but keep expectations realistic — this is not a pro-level GPS tracker and performance will vary.
Battery life
UGREEN FineTrack 2 delivers up to seven years of battery life, which removes frequent charging or battery-replacement hassles for most users. That long lifespan makes it especially attractive as a “set-and-forget” accessory for luggage, backpacks, or pet gear where maintenance should be minimal.
Verdict
For the price (noted at PHP 630 when the review was written), the UGREEN FineTrack 2 delivers compelling value: solid water resistance, long battery life, physical durability, and simple Apple Find My integration — all wrapped in a distinctive design that some will find charming.
Its main weaknesses are the Apple-only compatibility and the bulkier, ball-like shape that limits placement options compared with flatter tags; if you’re in Apple’s ecosystem and are looking for an inexpensive, low-maintenance tracker with a loud alarm and long battery life, the FineTrack 2 is a smart, pragmatic choice.
