GCash has expanded its in-app help tools and security features to address a growing number of user issues on its platform, including unauthorized transactions, scams, account takeovers, and “wrong send” errors.

More tools inside the app

Users can rely on in-app guides and the GCash Help Center for common problems such as failed transactions and wrong transfers. The Help Center provides support articles, report forms, and ticket submission, while transaction history and error notifications help users spot and respond to suspicious activity.

The platform’s chat agent “Gigi” serves as the main channel for account-related concerns, allowing users to report lost SIM cards or phones, request fund transfers, and apply for wallet limit upgrades through guided steps.

Escalation for complex cases

Cases that involve unauthorized transactions or account takeovers are escalated to live support agents. Users can reach these agents through the official GCash Help Center hotline at 2882.

Support is structured by case severity: basic issues are handled by in-app guides and self-service tools, while higher-risk incidents are routed to human agents for further investigation.

Security features in place

GCash highlights several built-in security controls, including Account Secure, which limits account access to one device at a time. DoubleSafe adds a selfie-based verification step for high-risk activities such as logging in on a new device or making high-value transactions.

Biometrics login, MPIN protection, and one-time passwords are used to verify the account owner and confirm sensitive actions.

Coordination with authorities, anti-fraud actions

GCash works with agencies such as the Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center (CICC) and PH Payments Management Inc. (PPMI) on fraud detection and enforcement. The company reports blocking more than 4,900 fraudulent merchants tied to QR phishing or “quishing” schemes.

GCash is also refining its tools to shorten response times and make it easier for users to report cases and monitor ticket status.

User reminders and reporting channels

Users are advised to transact only via official GCash channels, verify website URLs before paying online, and avoid sharing OTPs, MPINs, or passwords with anyone. Suspicious activity can be reported via the in-app Help Center, through help.gcash.com by submitting a ticket, or by calling the 2882 hotline.
